An essay on celebrities

There are many advantages and disadvantages to a celebrity life. Some of the advantages that I will evince later on in the essay are: money, popularity, good press in magazines; however, some of the disadvantages that I, too, will evince later on are: privacy intrusions, harassment and childrens’ privacy (children of the celebrities ).

Some celebrities may refrain from visiting dangerous places like Darfur and Afghanistan, but Jolie has not shied away from these regions. Her attitude and behaviour as a goodwill ambassador are exemplary and typical of a good role model. Celebrities can inspire others to imitate them through their values and goals.

In detail, celebrities are the people who enjoy high degree of public recognition and awareness by a large share of a certain group of people (Prof. Dr. G. L. Pedhiwal, 2011). According to Kurzman et al, (2007), celebrity is an omnipresent feature of society, blazing lasting impressions in the memories of all who cross its path.

Psychologists say some people aspire towards celebrities because they are made icons by the media around us. But some of us do not aspire – not even close –we think of them as futile flibbertigibbets and wish draconian punishments on them. Furthermore, some people even put food on their table through celebrity culture.
